Blue Hill Wedding in Bloom

While Flower Girl is packed up and awaiting a new home (we left the awesome corner of Earnest Sewn last week - BOO!) I have had the pleasure of working with another amazing floral design company Belle Fleur. 

If you are looking for a super romantic, yet sophisticated look, Belle Fleur should be top of your list. The lovely Meredith Waga Perez and her incredible team are some of the best in this biz. 

They do Yoko Ono's personal flowers! 

I got to work on a few weddings through the week in their 5th Ave studio, and then headed upstate with Meredith to do a rustic wedding at the gorgeous Stone Barns.

 

To fit in with the farmhouse feel, Belle Fleur designed table centres in wooden crates that looked as though they had just been plucked from the grounds.

(The bride named each table after a farmy thing. As well as onion, kale and tomato, there was pig and watering can. What does it mean if you're on the pig table?) 

The table arrangements were complemented with topiaries, succulents and passion vines.

 

I hear the food up there is insanely good, but if guests are still hungry, they can pick at the veg in the arrangements. (By the way, I staked all the brussel sprouts and beans and wrapped the asparagus #allbymyself)

Wish I was invited to stay and enjoy this view at cocktail hour!

 Is it weird how much I love doing weddings?

The American Museum of Natural History in Bloom

I don't know if it was Frank Sinatra looking down on me, but I had some amazing lady luck and was invited to help out on a big event at The American Museum of Natural History, with Matthew Robbins Design. Matthew has been on The Today Show and hangs with Martha Stewart, y'all, so he is very important and amazing.

I didn't really know what to expect but I was surprised to find the team really lovely and friendly, including Matthew who worked with us all day. 

The flowers were incredible, really fresh and unconstrained with a country garden feel.

Peonies, spray roses, jasmine and hydrangea. LOVE!

The outdoor arrangements looked stylish on a hessian type table cloth. I would have added more jasmine.

Suse & Ross in Bloom

Two of my favourite people got married over the weekend! They are one of those couples that are just so special - two incredible people who are  are amazing individuals that also happen to be even better as a pair. It's such a rare thing, and in the 11 years or so that I've known them, I haven't met many like them.

So of course it was the wedding of the year!

I was way too busy running around, drinking champagne and daggy dancing (ok, that's my real dancing, shhhh) to actually take many good photos of the blooms, but luckily Emma D was on hand to snap some memories.

Purple was a perfect touch in the vineyard setting, with beautiful lavender table decorations (I also loved the huge plates), and both the bride's and maids' bouquets were super cute. 10 out of 10!
