Brooklyn Wedding in Bloom

This has to be my favourite wedding so far. It was on the edge of Brooklyn, over looking the Statue of Liberty with really a beautiful floral design of stylish white blooms and lots of wild greens in mixed vessels. Really lovely, effortless style.

Friends in Bloom

Last week one of my friends asked me to create a bunch of blooms for one of my other friends. So nice. He used the words 'big, experimental and creative' in his brief. So, no pressure.

Doing a big bunch was really nerve racking. My small hands and lack of arm definition made it very difficult to hold the bunch, and I actually felt sore for a few days! But  in the end, it was well worth the strain and the early weekend wake-up calls.

Blue in Bloom

Blue Hydrangeas remind me of my Grandma. She always grew a few plants in her tiny backyard, and I remember my mum would often buy her a lovely new plant for her birthday or Mother's day (which was a big thing for my mum who otherwise only buys white flowers). It's really nice to have such a beautiful reminder of her.

Christmas in Bloom

So my Christmas ideas were thrown into turmoil by a new set of blue Moroccan style plates. Probably for the best, as the Prahran market was a bit short on foliage, and you can't go to the Melbourne Flower Markets unless you are a pro. I ended up with beautiful deep pink Calla Lilies, roses and lilies, and white and lilac hydrangeas

Mulberry in bloom

Hydrangeas remind me of my Grandma, she liked them best in blue. I could say the same for these Mulberry boots. The hydrangeas I'd take in every colour!
